EV Database's figures are mixed-use estimates in mild weather; expect less on cold motorway trips. Names of versions change; check Tesla's UK site for current models.
Charging differences
- Long Range and Performance cars have nickel-based batteries and the highest Supercharging speeds, up to 250 kW.
- RWD cars use LFP batteries in many versions, peak at lower speeds and are happy to be charged to 100%.
Which suits you?
- Lots of motorway miles: a Model 3 Long Range goes furthest per kWh.
- Family, dog, bikes: Model Y's boot and height.
- Mostly local driving with home charging: an RWD version is plenty.
