How we check facts
Our guides are written for UK drivers in plain English. Every figure that can change, such as prices, tax rates, grants and rules, is checked against a source we link at the bottom of the guide, and each guide shows the date it was last checked.
Sources we prefer
- Official sources: GOV.UK, the DVLA, Ofgem, Transport for London, legislation.gov.uk and the House of Commons Library.
- Manufacturers and operators: Tesla and the charging networks themselves.
- Established motoring and EV publications, where official sources don't cover a topic, named in the guide.
How pages are made
Charger, town, postcode, road and route pages are generated from open data (see About). Guides are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and then checked against the sources listed on each guide. We correct mistakes as soon as we're told about them.
Independence
We don't accept payment to list, rank or review chargers or networks. If that ever changes, paid placements will be clearly labelled.
Corrections
Email teslachargers@f1rst.co.uk with the page and what's wrong.
