Delivery day checklist

Checked 2 October 2026.

Take your time at delivery. It's much easier to get defects noted before you drive away.

Before you go

  • Read your order and delivery documents in the Tesla app.
  • Bring a phone torch, a microfibre cloth and this checklist.
  • Arrange insurance from the delivery date.
  • Ask to inspect the car in good light, ideally outdoors on a dry day.

Outside

  • [ ] Paint: walk round slowly, looking at every panel at an angle for scratches, chips, swirls and paint runs. Check the bonnet edge, door edges and roof pillars.
  • [ ] Panel gaps: even gaps around doors, boot, bonnet and frunk. Doors and boot close and latch cleanly.
  • [ ] Glass: windscreen, roof and windows free of chips and cracks.
  • [ ] Wheels and tyres: no kerb marks, correct tyres.
  • [ ] Lights: all working, no condensation.
  • [ ] Charge port door opens and closes.

Inside

  • [ ] Seats, headlining and carpets clean and undamaged.
  • [ ] Trim fits evenly, no loose clips.
  • [ ] Touchscreen, cameras, speakers, seat heaters and climate work.
  • [ ] Windows go fully up and down and seal.
  • [ ] Key cards and any accessories are present.

Drive

  • [ ] Phone key works.
  • [ ] No unusual noises at low speed.

If you find something

Point it out to the delivery advisor and ask for it to be recorded before you accept the car. Take dated photos. Minor issues are often fixed later by Mobile Service. Online purchases may come with statutory cancellation rights; check your order terms.
