Cleaning the touchscreen

A big touchscreen collects fingerprints quickly. Tesla has a mode that makes cleaning easy.

Screen Clean Mode

Go to Controls > Display > Screen Clean Mode. The screen turns dark so you can see smudges, and ignores touches. Press and hold the on-screen button to exit.

What to use

• A clean, dry microfibre cloth for everyday fingerprints.
• For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth very lightly with water, or a screen cleaner made for anti-glare touchscreens.
• Wipe gently in one direction.

What to avoid

• Spraying liquid directly on the screen.
• Household glass cleaners, alcohol-heavy products or kitchen roll, which can damage the coating or scratch.

Gloss trims

Piano-black and gloss trims scratch easily. Use a separate clean microfibre cloth, and some owners fit matte wraps to the centre console to hide dust and fingerprints.
