Scheduled charging and departure

Tesla offers two ways to control when charging happens at home.

Scheduled Charging

You choose a start time, and optionally an end time. Set the start to the beginning of your cheap tariff window, such as 11:30pm. Simple and predictable.

Scheduled Departure

You choose when you'll leave. The car works out when to start charging so it finishes in your off-peak window, and can also warm the battery and cabin for your departure. Turn on "Off-Peak Charging" and enter the end of your cheap window.

Tips

• Settings are saved per location, so your home schedule won't stop you charging elsewhere.
• If your supplier controls charging (some smart tariffs do), use their app and leave the car's schedule off, or follow the supplier's instructions.
• To charge right now, tap Start Charging; the schedule resumes next time.
• Set your daily charge limit at the same time. See Looking after your battery.
