The Cybertruck in the UK

Checked 2 October 2026. Rules and prices change, so check the sources below before you rely on a figure.

Tesla doesn't sell the Cybertruck in the UK, and it isn't approved for UK roads.

Why not?

Reports point to several issues with UK and European rules:

  • Its stainless steel body and sharp edges raise pedestrian safety concerns under European design rules.
  • Its weight puts it above what a standard UK car driving licence covers.
  • It doesn't hold the certificate of conformity needed to register it normally.

In early 2025, police seized a Cybertruck being driven in the UK, saying it wasn't road legal.

Imports

Private imports would need to pass UK approval, which is unlikely without major changes. Don't buy one expecting to register it here.
